Another year gone by

How times change....one thing leads to another. Its been some years now since i moved to the U.S. When I came here, i was quite shy and had a small view of the world.
Today with a diverse group of friends, an active social life, i seem to have moved far away from where i started. Sometimes when i look back at my school days, I am surprised and pleased that it turned out this way.

In other news, salsa classes are going well...actually I think i am improving quite a bit. I am hoping my gf will be pleased with that when she comes back.

Salsa

I always wanted to dance comfortably and finally decided to join a class. What better to choose than Salsa dancing. So last weekend, i went to a local dance studio for classes. The experience was pretty good. The beginner level was ok in the sense that i managed to keep up. But the moment they shifted to intermediate, i was all lost. The two left feet became the two right feet and then the feet completely vanished.
But, i take heart in the fact that i liked it and it was my first class...so I plan to go again this weekend and maybe regularly after that.
An interesting thing happened, i met this girl at the club and for some reason she told me she dances at a different club and i should come there. Maybe i will go check it out.
Anyways Happy thanks giving to all you people. eat lots of turkey!!

Dating Issues - Update

This week i finally decided that one way or another I will ask the girl out. And i got a very good opportunity when in a discussion she mentioned dancing as something that we should do. I immediately said she could join me dancing if she wants. I told her it was this weekend. The discussion moved to a different topic but i knew i had my opening. Later in the evening, i walked her to her car and asked her again if she would be interested. She wanted to know where the place was and when I told her it was some 30 miles away (a very nice, happening city) she complained it was too far. When i pushed her on it, offering to drive her, she said she had too many things going on in her life right now and would need some time to think. I joked with her about how much time she would require (a day, a week, a month, a year).
The next day, I asked her in the evening while she was leaving if she had found time to think. She knew immediately what i was talking about and said "No" with a nice blush.
With my hopes high, I asked her yesterday whether she is in or not for this Sunday. Unfortunately and surprisingly, she said she cant make it. I asked her if she would be willing to go somewhere close by but she said she just cant make it, apologizing on top of that.

Now i am confused. She seems to be interested in me, she wanted to go dancing. If she wasn't interested she could have said no in the first place. So whats up with it?
I am thinking, maybe she has to study, maybe its because of her health, maybe she has a boyfriend(she did mention her personal life had issues) ,maybe she needs more time....or worst may be she is just not interested.

After she said she cant make it, we had other meetings through the day and i again walked her to her car. But I decided not to pursue the topic further for the time being. I needed more time to think the next course of action. I am thinking I will wait for her exams to be over before trying again. I do really like her so I don't think i will give up easily..at least not until i get a firm reason.

Dating Issues

As some may have guessed from my previous post, the real reason for my interest in intercultural couples is because I have the hots for a girl from office. She's been in office for some time now but I have been on a crazy schedule for quite a while. So I was not able to find too much time to interact with her. But in the past one month, things have settled down and I find that I am quite attracted to this girl. I tried asking her out indirectly but wasnt very successful. I plan to ask her out directly sometime soon. Some say she has a boyfriend already but i havent heard her say that herself. So i still am not giving up hope. Wish me luck!!

Intercultural relationships

Since I have come to the U.S, I have suddenly become interested in inter cultural relationships. The interest really started when i stumbled on a blog of an intercultural couple. The postings were amusing and I did a search for more of these blogs. And viola, I found quite a few intercultural couples with either one partner being Indian. Its fun reading these blogs. Maybe i'll link them up sometime.

First Post

So after reading and following many a interesting blogs, i finally decided it was time to try my hand at this. But I am afraid to blog as my real self because i noticed its far to easy to find someone's blog and and track him/her mercilessly. So here I am, blogging under an alias. Some day, i might shift to blogging as myself again..but till then....its the goangypsy!
